Shavuot with the Shtiebel

While we can’t be together in person for Shavuot and while the world continues to heal, we are still finding ways to connect. Please read this email to learn how we are celebrating Shavuot as a community. Below are many opportunities to learn from each other, see one another's faces (digital + briefly while masked!), and have a meaningful Shavuot at home.

FRIDAY MAY 29: SHAVUOT DAY 1

😄PIRKEI AVOT BONANZA AND SHAVUOT TREAT! 2:30 PM-6:00 PM at the Shtiebel. Sign up for a slot to walk by and pick up a very special Shavuot treat from the Shtiebel and grab one Mishna from Pirkei Avot to learn on a lil' piece of paper! Throughout the day, we will complete all of Avot! There will also be kid-friendly questions to help with mishna learning :) Please wear a face-covering for pickup. Visits will be kept *very* brief to prevent gathering but it will be a lovely way to say "chag sameach!" and be part of something together over Shavuot.

🕯️🕯️One cannot accept Shabbos before 6:49 PM or after 8:03 PM. Once the candles are lit, all of the stringencies of Shabbos are in effect. Please light candles from an existing flame.

SHABBAT, MAY 30: SHAVUOT DAY 2

🌾Read Megillat Rut (the Book of Ruth). See some great learning guides above to print and use.

Yizkor can be recited without a minyan.
